11/12/09 - Vemail Gets New Yahoo Connection & More Attachments - Voice Genesis is pleased to announce the deployment today of the new 2.32 version of the VUUM Server, the server that powers the Vemail App. The 2.32 version of the server adds support for Office 2007 attachments and a new Yahoo Mail connection which supports more messages. Generally, VUUM server enhancements automatically roll out to all Vemail users with no user action required. However, in this case, Vemail users who linked their Yahoo Mail prior to 11/23/09 will need to unlink and link again to get the new connection (in Vemail on cell phone, see Settings, then Email Accounts). Support for Acrobat PDF image attachments was also recently added. Vemail already enables users to get other popular document, image and audio attachments on standard cell phones.
10/13/09 - Moto Rival Gets Vemail Push Email - Voice Genesis is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Vemail 2.13.02 on the Verizon Wireless Motorola A455 Rival. 04/01/08 - View Image Attachments with Vemail 2.09 Now Widely Available - BREW phone users can now view image attachments thanks to Voice Genesis Vemail 2.09 mobile email, now available from major BREW carriers, including Verizon Wireless and Alltel. All Vemail versions also allow users to hear audio attachments, and view document attachment text (more details). For a list of 2.09 supported phones, see the models marked in bold on our supported BREW phones page (how to upgrade). Although support varies by carrier, 2.09 is widely available from Verizon Wireless and Alltel, and may also be available from other BREW carriers listed on our Vemail download page.
11/19/07- Verizon Launches Venus & Voyager Phones with Voice Genesis Vemail - Verizon Wireless launches its hot new LG Venus and Voyager phones equipped with Voice Genesis Vemail 2.0 (v2.09). “These phones offer customers some of the most exciting technology available today,” said Mike Lanman, vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Wireless. 8/9/07 - Voice Genesis Launches Enhanced Alerts Service - Voice Genesis is pleased to announce the immediate availability of its enhanced Alerts service to all Voice Genesis Vemail users. This service sends text message Alerts to phones when new email is received. The Alerts typically contain the first 120-160 characters of the actual email. 1 Up to the first 1 minute of each intelligible English voice message will be transcribed from voice to text. Unintelligible messages or messages in languages other than English will contain your audio recording but no transcript. Although there is currently no limit on the number of voice messages transcribed per user per month, Voice Genesis (the maker of Vemail) reserves the right to limit this feature in the future at its discretion and without refund. Voice Genesis makes no warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy of transcriptions and will not be held liable for any damages you incur as the result of inaccurately transcribed messages. Transcribed messages may be reviewed by humans to ensure transcription accuracy. To opt out of voice-to-text transcription and just have your recorded voice delivered when you speak email, go to www.vemail.com > Login > User Settings > set "Enable text transcription of your voice emails?" to No > Save.
