Vemail ® Mobile Email App Download Instructions for Alltel Wireless Phones
Follow these instructions to get started and download Vemail onto your Alltel mobile phone. Vemail costs just $4.99/month (the charge appears conveninetly on your mobile phone statement) plus airtime. For a limited time, Alltel phone users can also try Vemail free for a day and get a 50% discount on a 1 year purchase 1 (see footnote for details). Verizon Wireless offers the BREW version of Vemail on Alltel handsets.
1 Data - Your Alltel plan has the big advantage that you don't need an expensive data plan to use Vemail. It just uses airtime (minutes) when you send and receive. For example, if it takes 1 minute to retrieve your email, then 1 of your plan minutes is used. Since minutes are so cheap these days, this approach makes Vemail much more affordable than products that require an additional data plan. Text - If you turn on the optional Alerts service in Vemail, then you'll be automatically alerted when you have new email. One text message is used each time Vemail Alerts you (usually 1 text for each incoming email). DO NOT turn on Alerts unless you have some sort of text messaging plan with Verizon/Alltel. Without a text plan, Verizon/Alltel will likely charge you 20 cents per text. To keep an eye on text usage, call #DATA (#3282) from your cell phone anytime. If you are nearing your text plan limit, then call Verizon/Alltel to upgrade your text plan or login to www.vemail.com and apply one of the filters to reduce the number of alerts. Also, you can always turn off Alerts (see Vemail Main -> Settings -> Alerts -> Alerts On-Off) and just manually start Vemail and select Retrieve Email anytime you want to check email.
